“Paniolo” is the Hawaiian word for “cowboy”, and Paniolo Country subdivision is often mistakenly thought to be located near the town of Waimea which is well-known for its ranches and paniolo. The Paniolo Country neighborhood is actually in close proximity to downtown Kailua-Kona, with good access to schools, shopping and recreation. Kona Plantation Estates and Pamahoa Estates are adjacent to Paniolo Country and feature spacious, newer, custom Kona homes for sale. All three neighborhoods feature 1-acre parcels of land with agricultural zoning.
